Between 2003 and 2009, Dutch would work behind the scenes for TNA as a writer/producer/agent. He has been credited as the creator of the Knockouts division, which was a real game-changer for women's wrestling. Jeff Jarrett, Vince Russo, and Dixie Carter did not share Dutch's passion for what a women's division could be but finally let him have his way to "shut him up." In an interview with Inside Pro Wrestling he explained that after everyone left him alone with the Knockouts they "took off." He gave the women the credit they're owed and said that their success was completely due to the presentation. They were allowed to be more than just eye candy and actually wrestle...and wrestle they did. Additionally, Dutch was instrumental in bringing Awesome Kong to the company in 2007. Kong felt that Dutch understood her character and her feud with Gail Kim was one of the most exciting rivalries of that time. Her departure in 2009 would coincide with Dutch's as she would cite changes in management as one of her reasons for leaving.
