10 Times WWE Hurt Sting's Momentum

Were they trying to hold him back?

For well over a decade, wrestling fans fantasized about the possibility of Sting joining WWE. It seemed implausible the longer he remained with TNA, but when he finally left the Nashville-based organization in early 2014, the chances of him signing with WWE grew to be much more likely. After many months of false starts and rumors of his stalemate status with the company, he made his long awaited WWE debut at the 2014 Survivor Series pay-perv-view, helping Dolph Ziggler (temporarily) put The Authority out of power. When he came face-to-face with Triple H for the first time ever, it was as if time stood still; it was a sight die-hard wrestling enthusiasts never thought they would see. The last year for The Icon in WWE, however, has been anything but smooth. From back-to-back losses on pay-per-view to his unforeseen in-ring debut on Raw, Sting has already seemed to have lost his luster, but he isn't the one to be blamed. Fingers should be pointed at the questionable booking of his persona since the start of 2015 and how the asinine amount of times WWE has halted his momentum. With Sting's immediate in-ring future in question due to a severe injury suffered at Night of Champions last month, one has to wonder whether this will be the legacy he leaves behind in the company he refused to sign with his entire career.
