10 Totally Stupid Things WWE Has ALREADY DONE Since WrestleMania 33

9. Unhindered Jinder

The Jinder Mahal debate rages on - but even if the decision to promote him suddenly and incongruously into the main event bracket makes some semblance of sense from a business perspective, it makes very little sense within storyline logic, as if that even exists.

It doesn't, obviously; how has Jinder Mahal improved enough to beat Sami Zayn in twelve minutes when just a month ago he lost to him in two? Is Mahal now six times or twelve times better Zayn? Why does WWE present us with so many unanswerable questions on a weekly basis?

If you squint or are generous, you can maybe see some sanity in all of this. SmackDown is marketed as the Land of Opportunity, which almost excuses the fact that Mahal was given even a slim chance of entering WWE Heavyweight Title contention in the first place. He also won with the help of the repackaged Singh Brothers (isn't it funny just how many irrelevant undercard acts fancy adopting entirely new personas when the part-timers go away and create new vacancies?).

But come on. How is a man who less than a month ago lost to Mojo Rawley in three minutes going to wrestle Randy Orton for over ten minutes? Wikipedia confirms that Mahal uses the Cobra Clutch Slam as his finish, but he's only won, what, three matches since he suddenly became a main event act?

Where is the drama going to come from? How can you tease that which hasn't been delivered?
