10 Vince McMahon Matches You Completely Forgot About

Buried battles with the boss.

Just months removed from Shane McMahon's quality television write-off against Kevin Owens on the maiden edition of SmackDown on Fox, it's worth remembering that a contest with a McMahon is not always as dire as it may first seem.

Limited as all the family members may be, the smoke and mirrors employed to make their contests genuine talking points on a show are usually effective, and they're invariably happy to take a kicking for the cause. Their matches have subsequently been particularly memorable over the years, especially if Vince himself is the one making the ludicrous strut to the ring for an overdue beating.

Despite some noteworthy battles, the Chairman has actually engaged in several efforts that feature all the typical McMahon hallmarks but little of the replay value his higher profile conflicts have come to earn.

With WrestleMania season looming, there's every chance at least one of them (and yes, Triple H counts now) will be preparing to step back into the squared circle on the 'Show Of Shows' stage for the brightest possible spotlight on another absurd offering. It's their company and sadly their believed birthright, but the patriarch has contributed a few forgotten fights to the archive that are well worth a rewatch...

10. Vince & Shane McMahon Vs. The Dudley Boyz

Typical of the famed McMahon ego, Bubba and D-Von's signature match began with them getting jumped by Vince and Shane, but the tide quickly turned and the father and son combo were subjected to a superb beating.

Booked against The Dudleys out of spite by matriarch Linda McMahon earlier in the show, Vince and Shane were due to be part of the 'King of the Ring' pay-per-view main event just weeks later, so the contest was a cynical tune-up match from the much-maligned McMahon mother.

Bubba and D-Von worked through all their usual spots with gusto, nailing the 'Whatsup' leaping low blow on Vince and a tremendous variant of Power & Glory's 'Powerplex' which saw D-Von drop a top rope legdrop following a Bubba suplex.

Drawing huge responses from the crowd for the rewarding assault, The Dudley Boyz would come unstuck in the closing moments, when an attempted powerbomb to Shane through Vince and a table led to interference from The Road Dogg, X-Pac, and Tori.

The 'McMahon Helmsley Regime' allegiance bore fruits for the depleted McMahons, as the 'DX' trio clumsily put both Dudleys through tables alongside Vince and Shane to spell defeat for the heroes.
