10 Ways WWE Will Be Different In 10 Years

9. Less Writers

Keeping up with a “less is more” trend, here’s a change I think will take effect once Triple H is the undisputed leader of WWE. If there’s anything we can assume about The Game, it’s that he’s much more old school than his father-in-law Vince McMahon. Whereas Vince’s brand of sports entertainment more favors the entertainment factor (flashy characters, scripted promos, soap opera angles), Triple H’s shows (NXT, Cruiserweight Classic, the UK Championship Tournament) lean more on the sports side, with a focus on athleticism, unscripted promos, and characters based on the actual performers’ background and personality.

With that in mind, once Hunter assumes complete control from Vince, it can be assumed a major change will be the downsizing of the creative department. Rather than a bevy of writers who have to scribe promos that talent need to memorize to the letter, WWE will have a looser approach that keeps storylines simpler and talent more free to find their own creative voice.

We won’t be hearing classics such as “sufferin’ succotash” or “sparkle crotch,” sadly, but that’s a sacrifice we need to be willing to make.
