10 Weirdest Wrestling Debuts Ever

9. The Gobbledy Gooker

An undisputed classic of the genre, we should have known all along to expect some bullsh*t. Who, realistically, was going to hatch out of an egg, other than foul anthropomorphic fowl?

Beyond the dearly-departed Gene Okerlund's pronunciation of the word egg - "aygg" - there is nothing redeemable whatsoever about this lame segment. Affectionately acknowledged by WWE as a disaster, something to laugh at on Network retrospectives in "Remember when?"-style, bluntly, f*ck that. This isn't so-bad-it's-good. The sting of embarrassment, the embarrassment of merely watching, stays with you forever, like the teenage romantic misadventures that haunt the reaches of your psyche, even as an adult.

Héctor Guerrero wore a stupid motherf*cking turkey outfit with oversized plastic yellow feet and a stupid blue mask with big eyes bulging out of it. Héctor made gobbling noises, from which Okerlund inferred his name - "Don't tell me you're the Gobbledy Gooker!" he said - before joining this monstrosity, this manifestation of Vince McMahon's lost genius, in a dance.

"He's won the heart of Hartford," Roddy Piper cracked. "He certainly has!" agreed Gorilla Monsoon.

HAD HE F*CK!

Everybody in the audience loathed this angle, and it didn't last the year, accordingly.

It debuted on November 22.
