10 Weirdest WWE Royal Rumble Entrants Ever

They never had a chance.

Approximately 1,000 WWE stars have entered the Royal Rumble match since its inception over 30 years ago with a mere three percent of them going on to win the whole thing.

Of those 1,000 competitors, it's safe to say that some of them didn't belong and never had a chance of punching their ticket to WrestleMania in the first place.

The Rumble is known, and beloved, for its surprises. Fans look forward to the feeling of not knowing who's going to enter the annual Battle Royal and when. Booker T, Edge, Chris Jericho and John Cena have all made returns in the Rumble over the years, which resulted in all-time amazing Royal Rumble moments.

For every one of those unexpected entries, there have been just as many fans were either not satisfied with or flat-out confused by, or both. They were the ones viewers have since forgotten about because of how insignificant their role was in their respective Rumble.

To call them a waste of a spot may be too harsh, but surely their numbers could have gone to someone more deserving and a lot less... weird.

The appearances from the following wrestlers in the Rumble can be considered shocking, but that doesn't mean anyone was clamoring for them. In fact, they just might have been the last people fans ever thought they'd see in a Rumble ring.

10. Jeff Jarrett (2019)

Jeff Jarrett's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 was shocking in itself considering the terrible terms he left on almost two decades earlier (and how he went on to start up his own promotion to rival WWE).

Many expected for him to get his moment over WrestleMania 34 weekend in New Orleans, sing "With My Baby Tonight," and never be seen or heard from again in the WWE Universe. That was why his Royal Rumble appearance in 2019 came as such a surprise to fans.

Jarrett entered at number two and almost sang a duet with Elias before getting a guitar smashed over his back and being swiftly eliminated. He lasted all of a minute and 20 seconds.

It was rumored soon afterward that The Honky Tonk Man was originally slated for the spot because of how he lives in Phoenix (where the event emanated from) and he was announced as an inductee into the Hall of Fame no more than a month later.

Jarrett was a fine consolation prize, but even weirder was his subsequent feud with Elias that played out on Raw in the weeks that followed.

Elias vs. Jarrett was the rivalry fans never knew they didn't want until it happened.
