10 Weirdest WWE Royal Rumble Entrants

9. Razor Ramon (1997)

Despite contesting four matches in four consecutive years at the Royal Rumble - each with a championship on the line - Razor Ramon never had a shot at obtaining the coveted WrestleMania spot in the main match himself. That is, until he left the company.

What? That's right: 'Razor Ramon's first appearance in the Royal Rumble proper came some six months after his dramatic WCW debut. Whether earnestly motivated or an ironic rib, WWE simpy recast both the departed Outsiders' gimmicks, resulting in the desperately drastic sight of the slightly-chunkier Rick Bognar stretching Scott Hall's old tights as the Butlins' Razor Ramon.

Both he and his ersatz pal 'Diesel' entered 1997's Royal Rumble as relative no-hopers. The future Kane fared moderately, lasting nearly twenty minutes but failing to match his predecessor's stellar eliminations record. 'Razor', on the other hand', was shunted after just 17 seconds. This is what's called an 'out-of-body burial'.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
