10 Worst Acted Moments In WWE History

And the Razzie goes to...

Seth Rollins Razzie
WWE.com

Not only is Seth Rollins the current WWE Universal Champion, but he added a big golden raspberry to his trophy cabinet on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, such were his Razzie-worthy histrionics when confronted by 'The Fiend' at the close of the show.

The Architect's gargled screams of terror spread hilarity more than they did horror, as did his stunned facial expressions as proceedings went off the air. Now, nobody expects Rollins to thesp it up like a member of the RSC, given his generally naff promos, but this was a special level of crap acting.

But was it the worst WWE has ever seen? Not on your nelly! Wrestling might demand its athletes tread the proverbial boards beneath the ring, but it's never been too strict on their quantities of ham. Indeed, many WWE performers have turned into huge hunks of gammon when asked to veer into the more performative aspects of the role.

It's not the worst thing: wrestling doesn't really need subtly. Worse are those who reel off lines with the same consistency as Hacksaw Jim Duggan's 2x4. It's made of wood, you see.

10. Linda McMahon Wants A Divorce

Vince McMahon's wife and piece of carpentry Linda gave most deciduous forests a run for their money with her woodenness, and her propensity of providing splinters was no more in evidence than when she sued her hubby for divorce live on air in July 2000.

Although she'd just recovered from a catatonic state brought on by Vince's own attempt to end their marriage, it was hardly noticeable as she lifelessly revealed that she was the one now seeking terms of separation, having discovered footage (ie, taped episodes of Raw) revealing her spouse playing away from home. Deep Blue couldn't have delivered a more robotic line as she demanded: "I. Want. A. Divorce."

It was this sort of charisma which allowed Linda to successfully fail in two tilts at becoming a US senator.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
