10 Wrestlers John Cena Would Not Put Over

9. The Miz

Much like The Wire's BPD Major Rawls had a raging hard-on for Detective McNulty, John Cena has one for The Miz.

Cena simply always wrestled The Miz like he was never in his league. The concussed Awesome One probably remembers more about his WrestleMania XXVII match than the fans do; by some distance the worst main event in the modern history of the show, Cena barely held it together before it fell apart. The worst was yet to come; Cena, throughout the Over The Limit '11 I Quit rubber bout, handily kept the combined might of The Miz, Alex Riley and a lead pipe at bay.

Cena neglected to flatter Miz years later, when he was otherwise a nicer chap. At Elimination Chamber '17, he dispatched the A-Lister with just one AA, a move that had, by that point, been rendered as ineffective as tweeting out one's thoughts and prayers. This was both destructive and counterproductive, since Cena was weeks removed from wrestling the man at WrestleMania 33. Yes, he did put Bray Wyatt over in that same match - but he didn't have to bury Miz underground simultaneously.

The only thing Cena protected at WrestleMania 33 was the engagement ring in his pocket. He took the most routine bumps imaginable before mounting a sudden comeback en route to victory.
