10 Wrestlers We're Most Thankful For In 2018

Not a turkey to be found, but plenty of reasons to be grateful.

It's Thanksgiving in the United States today, and for many, that means watching a boatload of sports, catching up with family (even creepy uncle Terry whose problematic diatribes are putting you off your pumpkin pie), and gorging on massive piles of delicious turkey.

The holiday represents gratitude, though there's never a bad excuse to put all that's bad in the world aside for a day, and consider how thankful we are for the good things in our lives. This is particularly true in wrestling. Fans constantly drive themselves up the wall by getting trapped in a vortex of negativity, consumed by all bullsh*t going on in promotions around the world. It's remarkably easy to do so, but for now, let's take a moment to celebrate the men and women that have kept us glued to this weird little sport throughout the year.

Wrestling has never been so vast, and it's rich with talented performers busting their backsides for our entertainment. Notable exclusions are therefore inevitable, and although our honourable mentions list is long, you rest assured knowing it includes the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, and countless others...

10. The Fabulous Truth

R-Truth and Carmella wouldn't have been near a list like this had it been compiled a few months ago, but here we are. Together, The Fabulous Truth are just a boatload of fun, an act far greater than the sum of their parts, and a welcome break away from all the super serious stuff going on elsewhere on SmackDown, even though they come with a clear midcard ceiling.

Their brand of comedy is most welcome. Truth is genuinely funny, particularly when his absent mind lands him in odd situations, and Carmella is a lot more palatable as a babyface than she was as a heel. It was but a short while ago that WWE were using her to troll fans via Asuka's destruction. Now, she's a genuinely over face commodity, with her and Truth's dance breaks always drawing pops, no matter where they're placed.

The Fabulous Truth are inherently silly, but so is professional wrestling. Everybody needs to lighten up and have a laugh every now and then. That's their purpose on SmackDown, and given how much life this novelty act has breathed into both performers, we hope it continues forever.
