It doesn't take a genius to figure out that WWE have been desperately trying to find the 'new Rey Mysterio' for years now. It started with Sin Cara (which really didn't work) and now Kalisto is getting a similar kind of push.
What WWE may or may not know is that the young athletic masked superstar they so crave is already out there in the form of AAA and Lucha Underground's Fenix.
Young, charismatic, popular and supremely talented in the ring, the athletic Fenix is a guy who would wow the WWE audience with his work. With the WWE trying to better utilise its cruiserweight division, Fenix would be the perfect signing to help boost 205 Live, but could be so much more if he's allowed to flourish on the main roster.
He's highly skilled at working with larger opponents - as demonstrated by his epic series of matches against Mil Muertes in Lucha Underground - and that's something which would help him climb to the top of the card quicker in the WWE system.
