10 Wrestlers Who Drew The Wrong Kind Of Heel Heat

9. Justin Credible

It’d be easy to lump Justin Credible on this list thourgh his association with X-Pac alone (because, you know... X-Factor), but he earned plenty of “go away” heat on his own merit too. He joined ECW fresh off a disastrous WWE run as Aldo Montoya in 1997, and was immediately pushed as a talented guy who’d been held back by his previous employers, defeating Jerry Lynn on his PPV debut, then embarking on an undefeated streak.

The problem was that Credible really wasn’t all that good. ECW tried to mask his deficiencies by booking him against skilled opposition, but he was quickly exposed as a bland worker with subpar mic skills. The fans rejected him as a result, with the hatred peaking when Credible became ECW Champion in April 2000, which marked him as a competitor in way over his head.

Some fans have pinpointed Credible’s main event push as one of the factors behind ECW’s eventual demise. This is a tad harsh, but his run was met with significant backlash, and he struggled to build any popularity when he transitioned to WWE following the promotion’s fall in 2001.
