10 Wrestlers Who Escaped Certain Death

9. X-Pac

It's no laughing matter when a performer gets injured, especially when the knock has potentially disastrous consequences. But at the point in which Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman confirmed his condition was stable, the wrestling community at large was able to let out a giggle that had been stifled since his impairment first occurred.

News emerged shortly after a Jerry Lynn retirement show that X-Pac had gone down in an unplanned moment, but further confirmation that he'd torn his anus from a missed Bronco Buster attempt seemed a little too far-fetched.

Video proof confirmed the unintentionally hilarious scrape. Screaming out in pain, Waltman visibly tells the referee he 'tore his a**', though miraculously finishes the contest, including going through a table shortly after it occurs.

Speaking to Sam Roberts years later, he'd note that an emergency sphincteroplasty surgically repaired the worst of the damage, having been told he'd have needed a colostomy bag for the rest of his life otherwise. It was the least of his concerns. Just an hour earlier, he described his hotel room as looking like a 'murder scene', having lost so much blood that he'd almost died before the rectal reconstruction.
