10 Wrestlers Who Found Life After Wrestling

Sometimes there is life after "The Business".

Often, it's all to easy to focus on the struggles of aging or former wrestlers who haven't been able to leave the profession gracefully. Between scandals, substance abuse, and untimely deaths, it's a gloomy, gloomy area of the business. One that has been covered to death, quite frankly.

Yet there is another side to that coin. Not every professional wrestler comes to a tragic end. Many remain part of the business well past the "normal" retirement age. Many never step away. But sometimes, those who do find success - find life - after wrestling.

That's right, there are successful transition stories.

Brock Lesnar comes to mind almost immediately. After leaving the WWE after his initial run in the early 2000s, the Next Big Thing tried out for the NFL's Minnesota Vikings, and actually managed to come extremely close to making the team despite having no football background. Cut on the final day of camp, he was offered a contract with the team's European affiliate, but turned it down due to concerns about his family. As fans well know, however, things worked out just fine for Lesnar - he ventured into MMA and became the UFC heavyweight champion, before eventually returning to the wrestling fold.

Lesnar of course is back in the company, but who else has found life (and success) after wrestling?

Lets take a look.

10. Molly Holly

You remember Molly Holly, right? Right? Entering into the WWE (outside of some early dark matches) she was the cousin of Crash Holly, part of the Holly family along with her other "cousin" Bob "Hardcore" Holly. With the Hollys, she feuded with Trish Stratus (then part of TNA, the faction not the promotion). She would eventually go on to be partnered up with Hurricane Helms, and in 2002 won the women's championship for the first time (she would drop it, but win it again in 2003).

However, by 2004 she was being used less and less, with her last big story line involving having her head shaved at WrestleMania XX. With the company launching the diva search, it has been claimed that the WWE's preference for looks over in-ring talent was a factor in her leaving the company, however Holly (real name Nora Greenwald) has stated that wasn't the real reason, and in 2005 released a shoot DVD discussing her various reasons for leaving.

Since then - well, Holly has dedicated her life to some bigger causes. After leaving the WWE she spent time in Guatemala where she volunteered at an orphanage and local church. Later she began working (for no pay) for Teen Challenge, and Know The Truth, where she visits schools to speak to teens about drugs.

Mighty Molly indeed.
