10 Wrestlers WWE Loved Burying Over & Over

We can only see Lana go through a table so many times.

There are times when it feels like WWE revels in toying with the fans, but taking stars that they support and ruining their aura is only the beginning of the games they like to play.

The organisation loves to undermine certain talents. By repeatedly burying them and belittling their stock on TV, these superstars end up feeling less like signature performers and instead people stuck to a company that seems to adore mocking them.

There are only so many positions on the card. Despite having three separate rosters, there are no guarantees that being a good performer is going to get you a top spot in the company. It is unfortunate to say, but oftentimes wrestlers who end up getting buried find themselves in a position where they have to work, and thus need to go through with ruining their characters in order to sustain a job.

WWE has had people under their umbrella they seem to have extreme delight in burying over and over. Having them lose matches, seeing them beaten up regularly, humiliating them on the mic, the higher-ups used all of those methods to hold down these specific stars.

10. Bray Wyatt

When rising to the main roster after a promising run on the very new NXT, Wyatt was a unique presence in the wrestling world.

Realism and believability are essential, but fans love to see characters that delve into the fantastical. Bray Wyatt genuinely seemed to be the new big character on the block, and we were all prepared to see what he was going to do.

A couple of well-written storylines and exciting matches - his fast-paced bout with Daniel Bryan at the 2014 Royal Rumble being a particular highlight - made the performer look set for the main event. It was then that WWE introduced John Cena into the mix. Cena had buried talent before, he was rather good at it, but fans felt Wyatt stood a chance seeing as WWE knew they didn't have any other characters like his.

Not only did he get overwhelmingly buried at WrestleMania that year, but the company just kept doing it over and over again. There was a standard structure, Wyatt enters a feud, says some cryptic things and then looses at a big event. Undertaker, Orton, Kane, Goldberg his losses stacked up in a way that took away his credibility.

Although he is doing better now, he still loses in huge events. WWE just seems to enjoy watching the status of this character plummet.
