This past Monday's edition of Raw was special for more than just the beginning of the brand extension. In the main event, world-travelled Finn Balor defeated WWE's pet project, bagging a match for the new WWE Universal Title against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam into the bargain.

Just a few months ago, foreseeing this would have been impossible. Joining the NXT roster was Balor's decision upon signing with WWE, and he's been more than ready to light up the main roster for years, but the idea of him beating Roman Reigns seemed unlikely. There's no way anyone thought Finn Balor was perceived as being on the same level as Roman by WWE.

Despite the emotion of Raw, not everybody agreed with the main event decision. In fact, one legendary WWE Hall Of Famer believes the result should have been reversed. Find out who in this week's article, one collating various wrestling facts we didn't know last week.

Joining that one, there are stories related to the likes of Mick Foley, the 'American Dream' Dusty Rhodes and Jake Roberts.

Let's look at 10 wrestling facts we didn't know before now...

10. Vince McMahon Credits Triple H For Creating 'Plethora' Of Talent

As a public company, WWE must justify their actions to a collection of shareholders. That's precisely why Vince McMahon routinely holds conference calls with these investors a few times each year, explaining how business is doing and what the organisation is planning for the near future.

This week, McMahon held such a call, and the WWE Draft played a huge role in the presentation. Crucially, McMahon gave credit to Triple H for his work with NXT, citing the fact that the developmental brand has increased the talent pool in the promotion. Along the way, he hinted that this was why the roster split between Raw and SmackDown was possible.

The likes of Finn Balor, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bray Wyatt, Enzo Amore and Big Cass all honed their craft in NXT. The same could be said for top names like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

It's interesting to theorise what may have happened had NXT not taken off like it has over the past few years. Was McMahon effectively saying that the brand extension would not have occurred had it not been for Triple H's dilligence?
