Question: what would have happened had Randy Savage agreed terms with Vince McMahon on a WWE return in 1997?

The entire wrestling landscape would have changed immediately. There might never have been a "Macho Man" in the nWo, Savage may not have put DDP over at Spring Stampede that year, and that's just on the WCW side. In the then-WWF, Randy's arrival could have had a major bearing on the rise of D-Generation X or Steve Austin's ascent to greatness.

According to Bruce Prichard, it almost happened. Savage was in talks with McMahon about coming back to the promotion he'd left in 1994. Talks were ongoing until Vince pulled the plug and decided against bringing the former World Champion back. What Prichard said next is amazing.

Find out what that was in this week's article. There are other big wrestling facts as well, including another story from Bruce on Eddie Guerrero's dedication to his character. Elsewhere, there are facts about everyone from Baron Corbin (who's a little confused right now) and The Rock to Braun Strowman and Ronda Rousey.

10. Chris Jericho Wanted To Be A Greatest Royal Rumble Surprise

Chris Jericho's ties to the Greatest Royal Rumble event have been strange. After first being announced as part of the 50-man match, Y2J was then randomly inserted as a replacement for Rusev against The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia. Then, WWE changed their minds again and put him back in the titular Rumble.

During an interview with ESPN this week, Jericho revealed that he wanted to be a complete surprise for the show.

Jericho has a history of keeping fans guessing, and he (perhaps realising how big a deal the event is for WWE) planned to make his mark as a shock entrant. Instead, he's been marketed as a returning legend helping to beef out the roster and justify the bout's "Greatest" branding.

Much to his own disappointment, he's been splashed all over advertising for the show too; WWE's own mini-site shows Jericho alongside the likes of Kurt Angle, Daniel Bryan and The New Day as part of the main graphic for the match.
