10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (May 29)

Do WWE actually want to sign AJ Styles?

Amongst other news this week, one of WWE's favourite pet projects went down with injury. It's clear that the company have big plans for Rusev, and even though he appears to have split with his manager, Lana, that shouldn't derail his momentum. The same can be said for the leg injury the man sustained during a Smackdown taping this past week, it's not expected to be a long term thing. Unfortunately, the incident means it looks likely Rusev will miss the Elimination Chamber show. There are still hopes the big man will make a full recovery, but it looks unlikely, and if he's unable to compete Bray Wyatt will be the beneficiary of his spot. Scheduled to be part of the Chamber match for the vacant Intercontinental Title, the big Bulgarian must have been among the favourites to walk away with the gold. Elimination Chamber in general looks a pretty intriguing prospect, as John Cena battles Kevin Owens, not to mention another blockbuster bout in the form of the first ever tag-team Chamber match. It remains confusing that WWE didn't simply elect to have Elimination Chamber be the sole Pay-Per-View style show of the month, replacing Payback, but it looks like it could be a fun event regardless. This week's news and facts include a former WCW favourite signing a WWE Legends contract, rumours on WWE chasing a former TNA World Champion, and another wrestling legend cluing fans in on what his favourite WrestleMania ever is.
