WCW - and specifically, if you believe online reports, Vince Russo - absolutely loved gimmick matches in which an object is placed on the end of a pole attached to one of the turnbuckles. If you could hit someone with it, they put it on a pole.

Of these matches, the San Fransisco 49ers Match that took place on an episode of Nitro from October 2000 stands out. Here, they didn't just put one object on the end of a pole, but four - one for each corner of the ring.

One box, naturally, contained the World Heavyweight Championship, with the remaining three instead offering a novelty item: a blow-up doll, a glove, and - best of all - a framed portrait of Scott Hall, of which Booker T was particularly unimpressed by.

There's no reason for this match to ever happen again, but if it did our one piece of advice to anyone attempting to replicate its, ahem, success would be to use sturdier boxes. In the climactic moments to the first one, the belt ended up falling out of the bottom, and the ring, as the winner went to claim his prize - which isn't exactly highlight reel material.
