10 Wrestling Matches Which Scarred A Wrestler For Life

They'll always remember where they got these scars.

As everybody knows by now, you can't make it through a professional wrestling career without being on the receiving end of a few bumps, accidents and occasional injuries. These are all just parts of the glorious game and these painful moments act as a constant reminder of just how real this predetermined piece of entertainment can be on its day. However, some of these mid-match injuries definitely leave more visible reminders behind than others.

While bruises and welts from a particularly gruelling encounter will fade in a week or two - although you can bet they will be taking up space on Instagram long before then - on more than one occasion a wrestler has been permanently altered off the back of a showdown with a colleague.

Awkward landings in the heat of battle, sudden injuries which lead to serious surgery or even being launched into a mountain of Christmas present have all left some of our favourite in-ring performers with unexpected physical or emotional scars over the years.

It just goes to show: you never really know which match is going to change your face, body or life forever.

No, Rey Mysterio's eye will not be making this list. Thank God.

10. Cash Wheeler - Miracle On 34th Street Match Vs. Heavy Machinery

If you needed a reminder of why The Revival felt their time in WWE was up, I give you December 2019's Miracle on 34th Street Match on Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

Designed to get Heavy Machinery's Otis over as the ham-loving ball of fun he was fast becoming in the company at this time, the now-Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood were sent flying into Christmas trees and Lego blocks throughout this painful (in more ways than one) encounter.

However, out of the two, Wheeler seemed to come out of the match the worst as he later revealed he actually suffered an injury which left him with a quite awkwardly placed scar.

In a recent Instagram post showing FTR pouring beer on AEW's Kenny Omega, Wheeler revealed:

'Don’t mind my under trunks from the unnecessary super wedgie Penta gave me. Or the scar on my cheek from the Miracle on 34th Street Fight.'

Watching the match back, it looks like the former SmackDown, RAW and NXT Tag Team Champion may have suffered the injury after being thrown into a pile of strategically placed Christmas presents.

Let Wheeler's ass scar be a warning: do not get between a man and his ham.
