10 WWE Allegiances That Must Happen In 2018

Predicting next year's WWE BFFs.

Friendships in wrestling tend to be short and sweet.

Having fallen out with Chris Jericho earlier in the year, for example, Kevin Owens has already moved onto his original BFF Sami Zayn, while Bray Wyatt only has eyes for Sister Abigail, despite starting the year singing the praises of Randy Orton.

And what about Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss? She's had as many sidekicks as she's had title reigns since stepping up to the main roster in 2016, but now finds herself on her lonesome after bust ups with Natalya, Mickie James and, most recently, Nia Jax.

It's impossible to predict which friendships will blossom in 2018 - who, for example, could have predicted that Sheamus and Cesaro would be an item a year ago? - but most of us have a good idea of what we'd like to see.

And the good news is, after teasing us at the climax of Sunday's TLC show-stealer, it looks like WWE has a good idea of what we'd like to see as well. Here's a hint: it doesn't involve Wyatt recruiting the Demon King to join him at the family compound.

10. Enzo And Elias

Enzo is in the midst of the best run of his career, and yet there is also a nagging sense that the current state of things is inescapably temporary.

The Cruiserweight Champion has mainly profited from Neville's decision to call it quits, and - so far as we're aware - he's still battling the backstage perception of him as a lazy worker who needs to brush up on his locker room etiquette.

All of that is to say that he's probably going to find himself back in the role of jobber once 205 Live figures out who it wants to fill the shoes its departed leading man, and after that, a tag team run of some kind looks like a distinct possibility.

Cass, who dumped Enzo earlier this year after becoming as tired of him as everyone else, is probably out of the question, so how about Elias? WWE's latest guitar-playing bearded big man has proven that he has a nose for comedy, and a working relationship between him and the Certified G would at the very least be good for a few cheap laughs.
