10 WWE Creative Success Stories In 2017

9. The Fashion Files

Once considered a lost cause on the bottom rung of the tag division's ladder, Breezango took their 'Fashion Police' shtick to the next level in 2017, creating SmackDown's funnest segment series in the process.

These short two-minute skits have given the once under-utilised Tyler Breeze and Fandango a platform to get over. They're uncharacteristically sharp-witted for WWE comedy, and while the performers unquestionably elevate the source material, the writers deserve credit for giving them this opportunity in the first place.

What's most remarkable is that six months later, the Fashion Files are still funny. This has been done by diversifying the themes, with recent Twin Peaks, Pulp Fiction, and Saw pastiches all delivering, though the '2B' whodunit saga remains unsolved. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if it prolongs the series' lifespan, though.

It's unfortunate that WWE haven't been able to parlay the Fashion Files into a stronger in-ring push. Breeze and 'Dango have worked just three televised bouts since June, but it almost doesn't matter. They were ghosts 12 months ago, but are now a near constant presence on SmackDown, and have every reason to be delighted with their progress.
