Speaking of the Rougeaus, one of, if not the, most famous backstage altercation of all-time took place between Jacques and Tom Billington, aka The Dynamite Kid in 1988.

After weeks of malicious ribbing and outright bullying from Billington, Jacques had finally decided to give the Kid a receipt. In the backstage area prior to the evening's show, Jacques punched Tom in the mouth while holding a roll of quarters. Despite losing multiple teeth, Tom, remarkably, didn't go down and although he was clearly wounded, remained on his feet.

You may wonder what this has to do with the lack of Royal Rumble appearances for one-half of the former WWF Tag Team Champion British Bulldogs. Well, this whole ordeal predicated Billington's departure from the WWF and, despite being a major part of the WWF tag scene in the 1980s, he never competed at the Royal Rumble.

Not only did Dynamite fail to appear in the Royal Rumble match, the British Bulldogs were left off the entire card of the inaugural event in 1988 months prior to the altercation with the Rougeaus. By next year's Rumble, Dynamite (and partner Davey Boy Smith) had taken their leave.

While Davey would eventually return to the company and make a name for hiimself in numerous Royal Rumbles, the Dynamite Kid was never seen in WWE again.
