10 WWE Romances You Totally Don't Remember

8. Sunny & Billy Gunn

Trish Stratus Kane
WWE

Working through more tag teams than she actually worked years in WWE total in 1996, Sunny went from The Bodydonnas to The Godwinns to The Smoking Gunns on a gold rush in an otherwise terrible tag team division.

It was typically shrewd of the 'Golden Haired Fox'. The matches were so forgettable that the story always became about her as a result, though an implied relationship between her and Billy Gunn became a featured point of interest with the trio before, during and after their coming together.

It was an attraction to Billy that forged the Gunns' heel turn that spring, a romance with him that blossomed during their brief stint atop the league, and their split that fed into the total implosion of the unit that September.

She had little interest in Gunn once the duo lost the titles to British Bulldog and Owen Hart, and his puppy love for her ruined their rematch for the titles the following month.

It proved to be the peak of Sunny's powers in the company. Though still a feature because she was too talented not to be, Sunny only briefly managed Faarooq and and LOD2000 in between guest referee/ring announcer roles before her 1998 exit. Her former romance with Billy was thus never revisited.
