Bayley was the bright young thing in the Raw women's division 12 months ago, but the additions of Alexa Bliss and, perhaps more importantly, Asuka have suddenly relegated her to the position of also-ran.
It's not like she'll get any respite from competition over on Tuesdays. Charlotte is still there, for one thing (although may somehow be shifted over to Raw after things with Ronda Rousey kick off), and so too the likes of Naomi and Money in the Bank holder Carmella.
But it just feels like she needs a fresh start, particularly in the wake of her damaging spring feud with Alexa Bliss, which saw her robbed of the Raw Women's Championship and her dignity after a humiliating, Singapore cane-aided defeat at Extreme Rules.
The other option to reboot her career would be a heel turn, but that would require a complete change of character and a radically different ring entrance - which probably isn't something the WWE marketing team is yet prepared to sign off on.
