10 WWE Stars Who Made Bold Claims They Failed To Back Up

Guys who ultimately failed to live up to their own extremely high expectations.

"I will give you a show like you have never ever seen before. Why? Because I can." - Shawn Michaels And he did! Shawn Michaels claimed that he could out perform everyone else on the roster and every year at WrestleMania he backed up those words. John Cena assured us all that "The Champ was here!" and that he was never going away. Nine years later he's still here and shows no sign of ever leaving (regrettably). Paul Heyman promised us all that his client Brock Lesnar would conquer the Undertaker's Streak and he delivered. They all lived up to their promises. Then there are the wrestlers who failed. The superstars who promised all kinds of victories, accomplishments, reigns of terror and the like. But they never could. Sure it can be attributed to poor booking. Creative tend to lose interest in many wrestlers before they can make good on their threats. But in other cases, several wrestlers higher up the pecking order have more control over the direction of their characters and so, creative can't always be blamed. Sometimes the wrestlers themselves are to blame. Either by not properly connecting with the crowd, or simply by just not being as good as they claim to be. Here are ten wrestlers who failed to live up to their own extremely high expectations.
