10 WWE Stars Who Teased Leaving In A Big Way

You can't see him ever again.

Ever since All Elite Wrestling properly arrived on the scene in 2019, the possibility of making a boat load of money outside of WWE has become a legitimate reality.

This has led to numerous WWE superstars opting to run down their contracts or even sending out cryptic messages on social media, in the hope that the door will be left open for them to join AEW or possibly another one of WWE's rivals.

Then again, sometimes they are using the smokescreen of this new show in town as a way of getting a bit more dollar out of the big boss or even as a work to get fans more invested in a storyline.

Those last two points aren't exclusive to this current period, and on countless occasions we have seen stars use the threat of leaving to force McMahon into coughing up the cash or dupe the WWE Universe into believing the departure could actually be about to happen.

Whatever their reasons, these stars all chose to tease us into believing they were on their way out of the company.

But why? And how did they do it?

10. The Revival

WWE

What started out as backstage gossip has now become something of a year long narrative for The Revival, spanning everything from Twitter posts to '#FTR' ring gear.

We're talking of course about the speculation surrounding Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson's apparent requests to be released from their WWE contracts in early 2019 and the subsequent noise which has refused to go away in the aftermath of that story breaking.

The pair haven't exactly tried hard to suppress the talk either and went as far as to have a cheeky dig at the awful creative they'd been burdened with for years, by slapping the initials for 'F*ck The Revival' on their arses.

Couple that with their constant social media stoking of the flames - with Dawson recently teasing joining an AEW-destined Arn Anderson on Twitter - and you can't help but invest in the idea that the duo don't want to be in WWE for much longer.

Of course, there's always the possibility that this could all be an extravagant work and Dash and Dawson - the brilliant heels they are - could turn round tomorrow and sign a mega deal, before sticking their fingers up to the fans and chuckling 'gotcha!'. Or maybe we could in fact see them locking up with the Young Bucks later this year... stay tuned.
