10 WWE Stars Whose Stock Has Fallen The Most Since SummerSlam 2016

What a difference a year makes...

WWE SummerSlam 2016

Remember the poster for SummerSlam 2016? Last year, names like Randy Orton, Finn Bálor, and Dean Ambrose were plastered all over the marquee. One of those men went into the show as WWE Champion, one was about to be crowned the first ever Universal Champion, and the other was headlining opposite Brock Lesnar.

Things have changed a lot since. 12 months on, 2/3 of the guys named are involved in meaningless matches at SummerSlam 2017. Orton, Bálor, and Ambrose are not alone either, because there are loads of other WWE stars who have watched helplessly as their stock plummeted right before this year's event.

There have been good moments for everyone concerned, sure, but what is the point of winning major titles or making big comebacks if the creative team forgets all about you in time for the second biggest pay-per-view of the year? That fall from grace is high, it seems, and it's a long way down...

10. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Last year, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson beat The New Day by disqualification on the main card at SummerSlam. Fast forward 12 months and the 'Good Brothers' aren't even on the show. What happened to The Club, and why has one of NJPW's best tag-teams become so unimportant in WWE?

The comedy-laced feud with New Day was hardly ideal, but at least it secured Gallows and Anderson a spot on the pay-per-view. What are they doing this year? The duo are barely even part of Raw storylines at this point. Gallows and Anderson have fallen so far that they must be yearning to play dress-up and carry testicles around in a jar.

2016 may have ruined the menace of these former Bullet Club members, but 2017 has been an aberration for the team. Not even a short run as Raw Tag-Team Champions could change that. These guys don't even look like getting on the Kickoff portions of pay-per-views, let alone the main card.
