The world today is more obsessed with political correctness than ever before, and that mindset extends to pro wrestling. Want to put out a storyline that deals with heavy topics like racism, sexism, or terrorism? It may well be worth a rethink, because WWE definitely don't want to irk key investors or the media.

Things haven't always been so strict. There was a time (before the world went PC mad) when WWE could pretty much do whatever they wanted. The problem is, those stories age badly when revisited on the WWE Network. We're talking cringeworthy levels of antiquation here.

Ever watch back some old wrestling and wonder what the hell Vince McMahon was thinking? Please keep in mind such content took place in a different time and a place, but that doesn't alter the fact WWE couldn't get away with such shenanigans in 2017...

10. Big Boss Man Feeds Al Snow His Own Dog

"Hey, I know what we'll do," said one well-meaning WWF creative writer (let's face it, it was Vince Russo) in 1999. From there, this person pitched a story which would see the evil Big Boss Man feed poor Al Snow his own dog. Bizarrely, Snow didn't find it weird that hated enemy Boss Man had invited him to his hotel for some dinner. At least there were twin beds.

Dognapping 'Pepper', Al's little chihuahua, Boss Man then presumably slaughtered the animal, chopped him up, and made him into a delicious meal for one. When people look back on the Attitude Era with misty-eyed fondness, remind them of this. No-one is eating dogs on WWE television nowadays, that's for sure.

WWE just couldn't get away with this sort of thing today. Animal cruelty accusations would be flying further than the projectile vomit of Al Snow post-meal. Still, at least this led to the 'Kennel From Hell' match, right? Wait, that was horrible too!
