10 WWE Storylines That Must Happen Before 2020

How can the WWE possibly salvage 2019 from its slumping ratings? Here's how...

It’s clear to any watching fan – of which WWE seems to be losing more and more of with every passing week – that the current WWE product is in need of a major overhaul right now.

The company may have made the surprise move to have Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff serving as executive producers on Raw and SmackDown, respectively, but the changes needed to the product are going to be hard to instantly implement. Luckily for Vince McMahon and Co., there’s still half of 2019 left to try and turn this year around from some of the god-awful ratings Raw, SmackDown and even pay-per-views have been bringing in.

One easy way to bring infuriated viewers back to watching WWE, of course, is to deliver an engaging and interesting television. Crazy concept, right? It’s no easy fix, but the WWE currently has an utterly insane amount of talented performers as the promotion’s fingertips.

With that in mind, here are some storylines that could help WWE salvage 2019, and stop this going down as one of the worst years in company history where it pertains to ratings and PPV buys.

10. Sasha Banks Returns To Challenge Becky Lynch

Whether you believe the stories of backstage temper tantrums or not, the fact of the matter is that Sasha Banks has been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania 35.

You could argue that throwing Banks straight back in as the top contender for Becky Lynch’s Raw Women’s Championship is rewarding her for deciding to step back from WWE for a few months, but right now the Raw women’s division is in need of a genuine big-name player to go up against Lynch.

Currently, The Man has been spinning her wheels in match after match against Lacey Evans, although looking at the rest of the Raw women’s roster doesn’t exactly inspire much hope of a viable contender to face Lynch.

Sasha Banks is a star and a true top-tier talent who the audience responds to. Once Lynch is (finally!) done dealing with the Sassy Southern Belle, it seems almost too perfect to have Sasha return and attack Becky; turning heel in the process and putting the pieces in place for a rivalry that can last through the summer.
