10 WWE Superstars You Didn't Know Were In CHIKARA

The biggest stars ever to pass through the wackiest indie promotion in America.

This weekend sees the return of CHIKARA's King of Trios, a huge tournament featuring teams of three battling it out over three days to see who is the best Trio in the world. For those unaware, CHIKARA is a Philadelphia based promotion founded by Reckless Youth and Mike Quackenbush, and currently run by the latter. The promotion draws its influence and talent from around the world with wrestlers representing Japanese, Mexican, and European styles, as well as more traditional American influenced grapplers and brawlers. CHIKARA sets itself apart by priding itself as family friendly. Characters are as often bright and colourful as comic book superheroes, with standouts including the ant-themed trio The Colony, time-travelling marching band leader Archibald Peck, and intergalactic insect overlord Ultramantis Black. It's not all wacky characters, as CHIKARA focuses on long-term storytelling to a degree that would make any other promotion jealous. In 2013, they went so far as to shut down for nearly a year all in the name of a hostile takeover storyline. Over CHIKARA's 14 year history, many wrestlers have passed through their doors including a good number of superstars you'd recognise from Monday Night Raw. On the eve of CHIKARA's biggest show of the year, here are 10 of the biggest stars to star in CHIKARA.
