10 WWE Superstars Who Were Probably Scientologists

9. Simon Dean With The Simon System - WWE, 2003

Similar to how when Tom Cruise became a Scientologist, and many tied his auditing to becoming the guy who married Katie Holmes and jumped up and down on Oprah Winfrey's couch, the evolution of one-time Blue World Order leader "Hollywood" Super Nova into fitness guru Simon Dean bears striking similarities. By the close of ECW, Mike Bucci was Nova, a man who had ditched his love of comic book-styled costuming for pleather tights and serious, highspot-filled tag team and singles wrestling. Once in WWE and fresh from a stint in then-developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling, he was Simon Dean, aggravating fitness guru peddling his get fit quick scheme the "Simon System." As well, his wrestling and physique had changed, too. His belief in the Simon System had allowed him to become physically larger and slightly pudgier, while also displaying an ability to cut annoying heel promos and travel to the ring on a segway. Whether or not Bucci had discovered a Church of Scientology in Louisville, Kentucky or not, the complete character 180 by Dean certainly feels like something entirely similar to the type of wild immediate lifestyle change we stereo-typically expect from those accepting Scientology into their lives.
