WWE takes pride in fans not knowing what to expect from them. While the product itself is usually fairly predictable, we’ve seen some pretty shocking returns over the years. Many of us never thought we’d see Sting in a WWE ring, or Goldberg make his return after 14 years away, or hell, even guys like Curt Hawkins, The Spirit Squad and The Head Bangers get another shot.

With the brand split in full force, the company needs more wrestlers than ever to fill out the roster. There are only so many people that they can call up from NXT, which means familiar faces will have to keep coming back in prominent roles. In addition to that, there are a few names that have been out with injuries who will likely be returning within the next few months to add some needed star power.

Before we begin to speculate who will make their grand returns next year, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Paige, Rosa Mendes and Tyson Kidd will not be returning for various reasons in 2017. That’s a shame for...two of those cases.

From legends, to reliable veterans to wrestlers who have been sitting on the sidelines, here are 10 superstars returning in 2017.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
