10 WWE Superstars Who Would Benefit From A Raw Money In The Bank Match

The briefcase that changes careers...

When WWE first announced the brand split last year, they released advertisements stating that there'd be 19 PPVs a year from now on - 14 split-brand shows, and five shows involving the whole roster. The standard "big four" would involve Raw and SmackDown, as would one more show. Fans assumed that it would be Money in the Bank, because it made sense for each brand to have its own briefcase.

Instead, Money in the Bank will be a SmackDown-exclusive show. While it'll hearken back to the MITB PPVs of old with two of the titular matches (including the first-ever all-women Money in the Bank match), there will be no briefcase or bout for any of the Raw superstars.

It's hard not to think of this as a missed opportunity. The Money in the Bank briefcase is more often than not a very interesting storytelling conceit, allowing a wrestler - usually a heel, usually one who has yet to capture his first world championship - to become a major player and a TV centerpiece overnight. Stars like Edge, The Miz, and Seth Rollins used it to vault to that "next level", and someone may do that this year, as well, albeit someone on SmackDown.

10. Bray Wyatt

To be fair, at this point, Bray Wyatt would probably benefit from anything that gave his character a bit of a switch up. The fact that he defended the WWE Championship at WrestleMania two months ago and now that seems like it didn't even happen speaks volumes about the way his character is presented.

With a Money in the Bank briefcase, Bray Wyatt may actually have something new to talk about - more than just the same repetitive promos about being a god and the embodiment of fear and all that. The briefcase would also make him a perennial threat, something that would be a welcome change for Wyatt, considering it's hard to take him seriously after so many high-profile losses.

The fact is that Wyatt needs something to break him out of the pattern in which he's been stuck for years, and a Money in the Bank briefcase may just do the trick.
