10 WWE Wrestlers Who NEED A Great 2018

9. Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose's 2018 has got off to the absolute worst possible start with the news that he could be he sidelined for as long as nine months with a pesky triceps injury.

Barring a miracle recovery, that pretty much kills any hope of seeing the Lunatic Fringe turn heel in time for a WrestleMania match with Seth Rollins - and so too his chances of a run at Roman Reigns' Universal Championship in the spring.

His year can perhaps still be salvaged with a big return in the Fall, but WWE plans are apt to evolve while wrestlers are rooted to the treatment table. There's no guarantee The Shield will still be around to have its second acrimonious split by the time he recovers and even if it is, we can't be sure Dean will have anything more than a peripheral role to play.

This is bad news for fans of the 32-year-old. He desperately needed a strong 2018 to make up for a desperately mediocre last 12 months in which he traded his role as SmackDown's leading man for a place on the WrestleMania pre-show.
