11 Long Term Booking Directions For WWE In 2015/16

Owens Vs Lesnar?

One thing that was clear in WWE's creatively succesful Attitude Era was that Vince McMahon knew everyone's storylines three years out. Commercial business boomed off the back of thought-out characters and structured narratives. But in the aftermath of the Attitude Era, so many of WWE's storylines have been guilty of underdevelopment. It is as if Vince McMahon has became distracted by so many other aspects of the business, leading to a lack of care in his creative department. He's also developed a reputation for changing his mind, leading to a flip flop style of booking which results in multiple Raw rewrites each and every week. But with Triple H taking on more duties, there has been some signs of long term booking in the past year. The big one was Roman Reigns, with the idea that he'd be built up strong for a year in advance of a title win against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. Unfortunately, WWE learned that in the internet age, long term booking also has the problem of being found out and sabotaged. Nevertheless, there's a range of long term plans that are being strategized right now for the rest of 2015 and first half of 2016. Hopefully, some of these will be more successful than the Reigns project, and recapture some of the old magic of the Attitude days.
