Carmella Interview
WWE

A number of pre-taped soundbyte-style promos featuring this week's main-eventers aired throughout SmackDown, with Carmella, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch each given a brief window to hype their number one contender's match. A good idea, but the quality levels varied.

Carmella's was poor. Imagine the most generic, say-nothing babyface wrestling promo you can think of, and you're probably on the right track. Claiming 'all [I] need is an opportunity,' she ran through her successful 2018 and promised to show the world she's 'everything [I] say [I] am,' then signed off without making any kind of lasting impression.

Shame on the writers for handing 'The Princess Of Staten Island' such blasé, character-less material. There wasn't a shred of personality in her promo. That isn't her fault, and while this segment was a tiny portion of the show, creative must do better in situations like this.
