13 Ghosts That Will Definitely Haunt Vince McMahon

The WWE boss has a sometimes haunted history.

Vince McMahon's WWE career has been littered with moments that came back to haunt him. To this day, he must rue certain decisions he made and the consequences of some of his actions. The ghosts of key events and personal errors will always be there with him, in his own daily Halloween of regrets. But before getting into the 'ghosts' in McMahon's life, it is worth noting that he must have his fair share of guardian angels. This is a multi-millionaire with global entertainment empire to his name. He's self made, creating more successes than failures in his decades as a businessman. However, when he has got it wrong, both personally and professionally, he's been nothing short of catastrophic to professional wrestling. There's several things that will always rest on Vince McMahon's conscience.

13. Killing The Industry Of Pro Wrestling

Some veteran promoters have commented that Vince McMahon Snr would be rolling over in his grave at what his son did to the professional wrestling industry. Deep down, that's got to hurt Vince Jnr to some extent. The industry was a territorial product before the eighties, and it was something that all promoters respected. Furthermore, pro wrestling was the focus. It was all about the athletic contests and personal rivalries. Vince Jnr changed all of that. He actively set about buying territories and folding them into one national outfit. On top of that, he took the focus away from contests and rivalries, and instead made his shows about scripts and appearances. Entrances started lasting longer than matches. Eventually he did away with the term "pro wrestling" completely, instead using the term "sports entertainment." As things stand in 2015, McMahon has the ghost of an entire industry on his conscience. What he found success with wasn't the "pro wrestling" that generations prior had enjoyed. There is no industry now, just the WWE.
