16. January - Kurt Angle's Return

After nearly eleven years spent exiled in the hinterland of TNA, Kurt Angle was finally welcomed back into the WWE fold this January when the company announced his forthcoming induction into their Hall of Fame. The news was revealed by ESPN, following WWE's curious pattern of encouraging high-profile external media sources to beat them to the punch on their own stories.

Angle quit WWE in 2006, embarking on a decade-long stint with their 'rivals', during which time he became arguably more closely associated with the Tennessee outfit than he ever was up north. Nevertheless, Angle's return to Stamford was seen as a homecoming - and one long overdue. The only question was: would he pull on (and later, pull down) the straps for the company ever again?

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
