18 Most Intimidating Wrestler Nicknames

These monikers intimidated even the most confident and fearless of grapplers!

A nickname can play a vital part in a wrestler's persona and reputation both in and out of the ring. Whilst there are some nicknames that are cool and memorable, such as The Texas Rattlesnake, The Cerebral Assassin, The People's Champion and The Ayatollah Of Rock & Rollah, there are others that just hearing them makes you wince at the prospect of what that person is going to do to the poor sap about to step into the ring with them. Working with some of these guys would be the furthest thing from a "night off" that you could get. Giving a grappler an increased intimidation factor works for a number of different reasons. None less so than in how it can do wonders for a babyface character if they're seen to overcome the odds and beat the big, bad, scary heel who usually leaves challengers needing medical attention. The use of an intimidating moniker for a superstar can help to give them a needed edge and often a credibility boost, but it can also be used in certain cases to highlight a genuinely legit tough guy and get over his real-life credentials to a casual wrestling audience. Don't be expecting to see a Mr. Ass, a Deadman or a Charismatic Enigma on this list. Space here is restricted for wrestlers who quite simply put the willies up many an opponent.
