Following Monday's rather skippable Raw Reunion special, WWE busily went about the task of setting up more matches for SummerSlam (which, y'know, Raw could've done too) and using legends in a much more progressive way (ditto) 24 hours later. Specifically, SmackDown's writers squeezed some more magic from ol' 'Showstopper' himself Shawn Michaels.

In that segment, you might've spotted how honest HBK was about his return to the ring last year. If you didn't, then this list has your back. It has your back in a big way too, because there are 18 things you probably missed to enjoy, including Shawn's candour, Shane McMahon forgetting his own nickname, a mini-push for Apollo Crews, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose talking absolute b*llocks and the Stunner Raw never had.

Elsewhere, Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler decided to shoot from the hip, Finn Bálor's avoided sacrificing his own gimmick just to serve another, WWE echoed Steve Austin's "family" sentiments and there was some damn good continuity.

This week, SmackDown was twice the show Raw was. It had pay-per-view build, good storytelling and a boatload of hidden gems...
