If January's best moments are dominated by the history of the Royal Rumble event, and both March and April have heavy coverage from WrestleMania, June is surely monopolised by both the King Of The Ring and The Great American Bash. Neither of these Pay-Per-Views are still running, although WWE do bring back the 'King' gimmick every few years when it suits.
As the Summer months start to really get going, June is a historically prolific month for wrestling, especially in WWF/WWE. The typically difficult fallout from WrestleMania is swept aside, and things start to gear towards another of the promotion's bigger annual events, Summerslam.
In June, none other than the likes of Mick Foley, AJ Styles, Gorilla Monsoon and even legendary WWE ring announcer Howard Finkel were born. On the flipside, names such as 'Classy' Freddie Blassie, Earthquake and Dick Murdoch left this mortal plane, leaving behind legacies which will be remembered forever.
June is also the month that witnessed a shocking sabbatical from 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, who walked out on WWE in 2002, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. As this gallery illustrates, June has been one hell of a month for the world of professional wrestling, and who knows what may happen in the future.
