Wrestling is all about emotion. You can have the best, most technically sound wrestling exhibition on the planet, but if the fans aren't emotionally invested then, really, what's the point? They might fill some television or pay-per-view time but they're not making anybody any money or setting anyones world on fire. The real bonafide superstars are the ones that can get the audience to react, to lose their suspension of disbelief and get emotionally invested in an angle, interview or match. People can talk all day long about how Hulk Hogan isn't a 'good wrestler' but the bottom line is that nobody gets a better reaction or controsl an audience as well as the Hulkster. It is these performers, the Hulk Hogans and the Shawn Michaels of the world, who are the creators of iconic moments, those brief seconds in history which have so much impact that they deserve, nay, need to be revisited time and time again. It might get a little bit wearying seeing the same moments over and over but, when you break it down and look at them, you begin to realise that they're constantly replayed for very good reason. We've been treated to a fair few iconic moments over the years and, as bad as the product may be at any given time, the WWE are still more than capable of creating them today.
