20 Most Tragic WWE Deaths This Century

Too many great wrestlers gone far too soon.

Eddie Guerrero Deviant Art Wrestling is different from other professional sports in that the death rate is extraordinarily high. Wrestlers die at a young age so frequently that fans are no longer surprised when a current or former star turns up dead in his home. Sadly, it has happened so often that fans almost seem numb to it, that the death becomes just another name on the long list of people who left us too early. If any other professional sport had a death rate this high, the US Congress would be calling hearings and ESPN would talk about it around the clock. If dozens of NFL or MLB players started dropping dead before the age of 50, the country would call for investigations into the leagues and why there isn't help available for people who obviously desperately need it. However, since it's just "fake wrestling" no one bats an eye when someone who is 33 years old drops dead of a heart attack thanks to years of steroid abuse combined with a destructive lifestyle and an ungodly travel schedule. Since 2000, dozens of wrestlers have died in various ways and this is a list of the 20 most tragic.
