... weird. Really, really weird.

WWE deserve some props for last night, because everything about the Miz & Mac storyline suggested that The Miz would be the one to turn. Instead, it was Shane. The former SmackDown Commissioner battered 'The A-Lister' in front of his father after their SmackDown Tag Team Title bout, peppering him with trademark piss-weak offence for entirely too long, before heading to the back. Later, he'd refuse to respond to Kayla Braxton's questioning.

McMahon will now talk into WrestleMania 35 opposite a babyface. That, in itself, is a mess. Miz is a great heel, one of the best in the world, but he's a lacklustre good guy, and Shane is Shane. This is going to reek. Relying on Miz to transcend weird writing isn't a thing we should have to do in 2019, yet that's what'll need to happen if this programme isn't going to tank.
