20 Scariest Wrestling Moments Ever

Those aren't fans booing Cena... they're GHOSTS!

Boo! Halloween draws near, and all fans of the spooky and the macabre draw together to share tales of gripping horror - even if those tales took place on pro wrestling television shows. There's long been a connection between wrestling and horror - both genres feature outlandish, intimidating characters and fans who enjoy getting so wrapped up in the show that, for them, the lines between fantasy and reality blur.

There's an inescapable thrill that comes with both, and wrestling, for its part, has upped the ante by introducing monstrous gimmicks portrayed by hulking athletes. These frightening competitors and their antics ensure that fans - especially younger ones - are tormented during the night by visions they see in the ring.

This list counts down the 20 scariest moments in wrestling history. Though some of them were scarier in the moment (you know, when we were eight), all have a certain chilling quality that are sure to unnerve fans old and new alike.

Also, just a quick note: all of these entries are horror-influenced and (mostly) in kayfabe, so there won't be anything like The Undertaker taking a faceplant at WrestleMania XXV or WWE promoting Mike Adamle to Raw announcer, as terrifying as those moments were. Enjoy, and sleep tight.
