A former pro-footballer with a body-builder physique, Bruce aka Butch Reed ticked just about all of Vince McMahon's boxes, so it was hardly a surprise that he landed a gig in the WWE in the mid-1980s after impressing in the territories.

What's perhaps more surprising is that he won nearly 78% of his matches therein, losing only 11 of the 54 bouts he fought inside the squared circle, despite being accused of no-showing an event at which he was allegedly penciled in to win Ricky Steamboat's Intercontinental Championship.

Though Reed didn't exactly reach the heights that a man of his profile (and muscle mass) might have been expected to, his WWE run was solid and paved the way for an arguably even more impressive one in World Championship Wrestling, where he - along with Ron Simmons - held the tag titles for nearly a full year.
