22 WTF Moments From WWE Attitude Era Raw 1998 (Jan 19)

The infamous Austin/Tyson brawl, a DX barbecue, and an on-screen appearance for Vince Russo.

1998 kicked off in bizarre fashion with one of the strangest Royal Rumble PPVs ever - culminating in an actual murder attempt on Undertaker - and you can bet your bottom dollar the following Raw is just as kooky. We're in for an absolute treat this week, with backstage shenanigans, outrageous in-ring promos, and a closing segment that has since gone down in Raw history. I'm referring of course to the infamous in-ring confrontation between Steve Austin and Mike Tyson, billed as the "baddest" men in their respective fields. Tyson was a guest at the previous night's pay-per-view, and declared himself a big fan of Stone Cold, but that all gets undone on tonight's show. Elsewhere, we're treated to wonderfully weird appearances from Paul Bearer, Vince Russo, and two fake Undertakers. Strap in, folks - we're on the road to WrestleMania 14.

22. "You Suck!" "Well If I Do, I Must Be Good."

Paul Bearer comes out to start the show, delivering a promo as only he really can - in very disturbing fashion. The crowd react appropriately, giving him a lot of heat. Remember, only last night at the Rumble, Bearer and Kane cost Undertaker his title match against Shawn Michaels. Oh, and they set him on fire as well. That was pretty bad too, I guess.
