25 Greatest Tag Team MVPs In Wrestling History

Forget ranking great tag teams. These 25 men were great at being IN tag teams.

You've already read roughly a million variations on an article claiming to definitively rank the top tag teams in wrestling history. That's well-trodden ground, and I won't drag you there again.

Instead, I've ranked the following wrestlers who did great work as part of a team. Rather than just listing teams, I’ve done the research to figure out who wrestling’s real tag team specialists are, guys who can make just about any team good just by being on it.

So, even though Hawk and Animal would have to rank in anyone’s top 5 tag teams, you won't find either one on this list. Neither Dudley Boy is on this, because they weren't successful with a wide variety of partners... but Heath Slater’s in there! You get the idea.

Along with a short description of a given performer’s tag team chops, I’ll provide a list of their partners, a list of championships and tournaments won, along with any other accolades.

Here are the 25 greatest tag team MVPs in wrestling history.

25. Heath Slater

Partners: Justin Gabriel, Drew McIntyre/Jinder Mahal, Titus O’Neil, Adam Rose/Curtis Axel/Bo Dallas

Accomplishments: FCW Florida Tag Team Championship, WWE Tag Team Championship (3)

Heath Slater is like the ultimate utility player. You can put him in any tag team and he's instantly entertaining to watch. Only his team with Justin Gabriel actually won him any kind of championship gold in WWE, but all of his teams have been figurative gold.

Personally, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the dearly-departed Slater-Gator.
